Request a demoTrees on company land are a carbon sink, and the TGO framework allows organizations to quantify removals alongside emissions. Tree Survey records each tree with its species group, girth at breast height (GBH) and, for palms, height. The App converts GBH to diameter at breast height automatically, so field staff only need a tape measure.
Biomass is calculated with allometric equations chosen by tree group. General trees use the Ogawa et al. (1965) equations that estimate stem, branch, leaf and root mass separately; mangroves use Komiyama et al. (2005); palms use a height-based equation. Biomass is converted to carbon stock with the IPCC default carbon fraction of 0.47, and carbon to CO2 with the molar ratio 44/12.
A summary view totals sequestered CO2 for the whole organization and breaks it down by tree group and by the top species, ready to be reported next to the emission inventory.
