Activity Recording

Activity Recording is the core of CarbonBiz. Each record captures what happened, when, how much and which emission factor applies. The App calculates CO2e as you type, so the person entering the data sees the result before saving instead of discovering a mistake in a report weeks later.

The form covers 26 activity types grouped by Scope 1, 2 and 3, plus special types such as septic tanks, wastewater, fertilizer, refrigerant leaks, vehicle commuting and paper use. Validation runs on both the browser and the server: dates cannot be in the future, amounts must be positive, the unit must match the chosen emission factor, and the same activity cannot be saved twice on the same day.

Every record carries the fields a verifier will ask about. A seven-gas breakdown (CO2, CH4, N2O, HFCs, PFCs, SF6, NF3) is stored per activity, biogenic CO2 can be flagged separately, and each entry is tagged as measured, calculated or estimated with a calculation-method string. A significance score marks the activities that matter most for Scope 3 materiality. Edits and deletions are written to the audit log with before and after values.
