Some emission sources cannot be captured by a simple amount times factor. CarbonBiz gives each of them a dedicated form that asks for the parameters the IPCC method actually needs and locks the factors that should not be edited by hand.

Septic tanks and on-site wastewater treatment calculate methane with IPCC 2006 Volume 5, Chapter 6, Equation 6.1. The septic form takes working days per month, headcount, BOD per person per day (default 40 g, adjustable between 25 and 100), and utilisation parameters U and T; the wastewater form takes cubic metres and COD from lab results. The emission factor and the CH4 GWP of 28 (AR5) are fixed in the module. Fertilizer emissions use an IPCC Tier 1 N2O approach with eight Thai presets such as Urea 46-0-0, DAP and 15-15-15, plus a custom mixed mode, and the formula is displayed under the form.

Refrigerant leaks are calculated per unit as charge multiplied by annual leak rate multiplied by GWP, with a seven-substance GWP table (R-32, R-410A, R-134a, R-22, R-407C, R-404A and CO2 fire suppression) kept in one place so the form and the API always agree. Paper per capita converts reams per person per month into kilograms and CO2e. In every module, the raw inputs are stored as calculation parameters on the activity so a verifier can replay the result.
